During most of the year, the resulting clippings are discarded, but in the fall, long, slim branches can be combined in a vase to bring the beautiful colors of the season to any table, indoors or outside.

The Fall Palette – Speaking of colors, decorative furniture and accent materials in the muted earth tones of fall go on sale earlier every year. Decorative flags, seat cushions, tablecloths and napkin sets, umbrellas, and welcome mats are among the many, many options.

A Cozy Corner – Don’t rush to put your outdoor furniture away. A few throws – ideally in seasonally appropriate colors like gold, deep red, and burnt orange – will ensure comfort on fall evenings and weekend mornings. Stay even warmer by moving furniture into sunlit areas, or consider installing a fire pit.

Flowers – Your fall container gardening choices aren’t limited to mums. Potted violas, pansies, and marigolds also thrive in the autumn.
